manchester jazz festival is delighted to announce Brightside Brewery Company as the new bar sponsor for 2018.
The Radcliffe-based brewers will host the Brightside Festival Bar in mjf’s Festival Square in Albert Square from 20 – 28 July this year.
The family run business will be offering those heading the festival a range of their real ales, craft beers and lagers, plus a specially brewed one-off festival ale under their adventurous Wildside label.
mjf Executive Director EJ Trivett said: “The Brightside Brewing Company hold many of the same values as mjf, so we are truly excited to be working with them this year.
“They are a regional outfit who have been brewing for years and have a loyal fan base. That said, they are not afraid to try something new, brewing adventurous ales through their Wildside label and selling at new events across the region.
“This rich history and adventurous wild streak make them a perfect fit to host our festival bar.”
manchester jazz festival, the city’s longest running music event and Europe’s most adventurous jazz festival, returns for its 23rd year with 96 gigs across the city, featuring a line-up of local and international talent.
The full programme is now live here and features UK and world premieres, the best in emerging talent, gems from across the north west and Great Britain, a French day showcasing our European cousins and firm favourites making a welcome return to the festival.
The Festival Square once again centres around Albert Square and plays host to a selection of free music, food and drink throughout the festival. And of course, the Brightside Festival Bar.
The Brightside Brewing Company started trial brewing on a home brew kit back in 2009 when the country was in the depths of recession – which is partly how the name Brightside arose.
Today they’re an established name in Manchester and are one of the largest microbreweries in the area with a reputation for quality consistency and service.
Their beers include the best-selling Odin blonde, CAMRA- award winning Maverick IPA and signature Helles lager.
Brightside Brewery beers can be found in many of the freehouse pubs and bars in the city, out towards Crewe and Chester in the South, through the Wirral, and up to Preston in the North. In fact, you’ll find them across much of the UK by way of swapped casks with partner breweries and wholesalers.
Carley Friedrich, Sales Director, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be part of such a prestigious music festival which brings the best of the world’s jazz musicians to our city every summer. It’s an amazing opportunity for us showcase our beers to a huge local, national and international audience and really show what we’re about. Plus it’s a great excuse to enjoy some live music ourselves! We’re really looking forward to working with team behind the festival and I’m certain it’s going to be a fantastic partnership”
