Celebrating Choro, the vibrant beating heart of Brazilian music, pianist Huw Warren’s latest project explores music from the 1880’s to the present day by composers such as Ernesto Nazareth, Chiquinha Gonzaga, Pixinguinha, and modern masters such as Guinga and Hermeto Pascoal.

By turns virtuosic, lyrical, and always beautiful and elegant – Choro Choro Choro brings new twists to this cherished dance music.

Welsh pianist and composer Huw Warren was Awarded the BBC Jazz award for Innovation and has achieved an international reputation for innovative and eclectic music-making over a thirty-year career. Equally at home crossing the worlds of jazz, global and contemporary music, he has a distinctive and personal voice. In addition to his revered band Perfect Houseplants, he has collaborated with a huge variety of artists worldwide, including June Tabor, Iain Ballamy, and Italian singer Maria Pia de Vito.

This piano-led quartet is orchestrated in the tradition of Choro: instrumental Brazilian music full of syncopation, counterpoint and improvisation. His forward-looking jazz interpretations of this popular Latin genre bring Choro to the enjoyment and appreciation of new audiences.

Truly, “music for the head, heart and feet!
