Anna Chandler-King with the Flawd House Band

Flawd
Anna Chandler-King saxophone / Bim Williams guitar / Andy Patterson double bass / Ruben Sheridan drums
Anna is a jazz saxophonist based in Leeds. She has a deep passion for a broad variety of genres; performing heavily improvised contemporary music, roasting at high tempos or pulling out a Johnny Hodges impression.
Her musical approach has always been to take lessons from the many parts of this music she loves, and to tie it together with an emotive, melodic approach.
Whilst she normally makes sure she plays at least one composition by Charles Mingus on every gig, this time she’ll be bringing a set almost entirely comprised of his works, joined by the Flawd House Band. Expect some of his classics and some deep cuts.
“Particularly impressive was Anna Chandler on alto, who soared like an early Art Pepper or Paul Desmond – keep an eye out for her, she’s the absolute real deal.” – Lance Liddle, Bebop Spoken Here
