Dana Ali is an American neo-soul artist and singer-songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia, having crossed the waters to the UK with her bass player Dave Hewitt (of Babe Ruth fame). Together, they have written songs that have been recorded on both sides of the Atlantic.
Ali and Hewitt formed the Dana Ali band, taking elements of soul, jazz, blues and R&B with Latin and funk rhythms to create a fresh and distinctive sound. The band have been touring the UK extensively at a variety of venues; throughout the course of their musical career, they have won over the hearts and affections of countless music lovers from all walks of life, serving as both inspiration and role model.
You can expect a wonderful evening enjoying Dana and the band’s one-of-a-kind take on the best-loved songs from across the decades, as well as some of the band’s brilliant originals. Taking her influences from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Eva Cassidy and Roberta Flack, Dana and her band have packed out the club on many occasions with their addictive groove and electric showmanship, getting the whole crowd up and dancing: tonight’s gig will be no exception!
