Gary is a cellist & composer who writes music for orchestra & chamber ensembles, leads a band that plays original music, & has carved out a unique identity with his solo playing & beatboxing as The Urban Cellist.

Gary took part in last year’s hothouse round. The 6-month long prog is designed for artists ready to take the next steps in their career but have previously faced barriers in achieving this.

Moby Dickless took part in our soundcheck programme aimed at introducing musicians to the world of Jazz, giving them the space to explore their craft through improvisation.

Her work is an on-going process of musical innovation. Through research and experimentation, she has developed the use of electronic effects that enhance the scope of her improvisational work. Be it theatre or contemporary performance, octets or duos, compositions or free-style improvisation, Julie infuses her music with an urgent fragility.

Led by multi-instrumentalist Hannabiell Sanders, this high energy ensemble is nothing less than exhilarating as it fuses together Afro-Caribbean & Latin percussion, Jazz, Afro-beat, and Funk to create their unique sound.

They have already created a buzz, performing at venues such as the Southbank Centre-London, Sage Gateshead, The Cluny Newcastle, the Hare & Hounds-Birmingham, Jazz Refreshed-London, The Hagglers Corner-and many more.
