Intergalactic Brasstronauts
Escape to Freight Island - The Ticket Hall
The brainchild of composer and producer Sam Thornton, Intergalactic Brasstronauts juxtaposes hard-hitting brass and explosive solos with ambient dub and global rhythms. Their unique heavy dual bass, provided by sousaphone and contrabass clarinet, and electronic textures aim to transport the listener from the band’s native Yorkshire around the globe, to outer space and back again.
Their debut album “Music For The People” has been described as “perfect” by Craig Charles (BBC 6Music) and “my favourite album” by Dennis Bovell (Soho Radio presenter and legendary reggae composer/producer).
11-piece ensemble led by composer and producer Sam Thornton. Full lineup TBC
