Here at mjf, not only do we strive to jazz up Manchester’s summer each year but we also place the festival and Manchester at the forefront of the international jazz community. As such, we have enjoyed many long and positive collaborations within Europe and beyond. Our artistic director, Steve Mead, is on the board of the Europe Jazz Network and regularly represents our festival at international conferences. He frequently sits on the panel at conferences and for sector discussions, providing a voice for our festival and its ethos. And finally, our first and latest international, talent development programmes (D’Accord! and Constellations) will not only provide more overseas opportunities for our artists but help to foster more vital international collaborations between the UK and our European peers.
