Here at mjf, not only do we strive to jazz up Manchesterโs summer each year butย we alsoย place the festival and Manchester at the forefront of the international jazz community.ย As such, we have enjoyed many long and positive collaborations within Europe and beyond. Our artistic director, Steve Mead,ย is on the board of the Europe Jazz Networkย and regularly represents our festival at international conferences.ย He frequentlyย sits on the panel at conferences and for sector discussions, providing a voice for our festival and its ethos. And finally, our first and latest international,ย ย talent development programmesย (DโAccord! and Constellations)ย will not only provide more overseas opportunities for our artists but help to fosterย moreย vital international collaborationsย between the UK and our European peers.
